This superb short trek passes through the Kingdom of Gaddi, a semi-nomadic race that spends many months wandering the high pastures with their sheep. The trail offers splendid views of the Dhauladhar mountain range, passing through mountain villages with terraced fields, dense mixed forests of oak, rhododendron, pine and bamboo, with some of the best camping spots throughout the trek; the rivers and streams, together with mixed forest, offer some fine bird-watching.
An itinerary, tailor-made to infuse the nomad in you by the beauty of Himalayan region, journeying through mini Tibet of India!
The journey also has on schedule visit H.H. Dalai Lama’s monastery and residence; Pragpur (a heritage village) and Amritsar (Pool of Nectar). This itinerary is exclusively designed to offer you a glimpse of Himalyan region starting from a cycle rickshaw ride from the narrow alleyways of Old Delhi’s charm, Chandni Chowk. You will get to explore the Mini Tibet of India and will get surrounded by enchanting Buddhist vibes. Spending some moments at the famous Golden Temple, listening to the prayers will fill you with peace.

1
Day 1, Arrive Delhi :
Assistance and garland welcome on arrival and transfer to a pre-booked hotel, morning free to recharge. Afternoon guided tour of Old Delhi, visiting the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk (Silver Market) by cycle rickshaw.

Day 2, Delhi :
After breakfast, guided visit to New Delhi, visiting India Gate, Birla Temple and Humayun’s Tomb. Afternoon free to relax in your hotel garden.

Day 3, Delhi to Jalandhar : Train & Jalandhar to Dharamshala : 161Km about 4:30hrs
Early morning transfer to the railway station for Shatabdi Express to Jalandhar, departing Delhi at 0720hrs and arriving Jalandhar at 1210hrs. Arrive Jalandhar and transfer to Dharamshala (135km). This is a beautiful drive through the Himalayan foothills with terraced fields, villages and distant mountain views.

Day 4, Dharamshala (Mcleod Ganj) :
Explore this fascinating town with a typically Tibetan atmosphere; also visit the Monastery of H.H. Dalai Lama. All meals and overnight in the hotel.

Day 5, Dharamshala (McLeodganj) to Kareri : about 11Km about 5 hrs
After breakfast, we trek about 11/12km, descending through a dense pine forest to Kareri River, where we have lunch. After lunch, we make a gradual ascend through a small village and then through a meadow to our camp by the river, with distant views of the Dhauladhar Mountains.

Day 6, Kareri to Bal: 13-14Km about 6hrs (2330m altitude)
After an early breakfast, we continue our 6hrs trek. Initially, we negotiate a very gradual ascent, through small bushes to a lovely mountain village and then descend through the valley to a beautiful mountain stream. This is also a perfect place for lunch. After lunch, we begin our gradual ascent for about one hour and then a steep ascent through a dense mixed forest of bamboo, oak and pine to the cool offering beautiful views of the valley. We finally arrive at Bal village (2330m) and camp near this village by a beautiful stream (a paradise for birdwatchers) with distant views of Camel peak (5300m).

Day 7, Bal to Triund: about 5hrs Trek (2985m altitude)
After breakfast, we make another steep ascent through mixed forest to a ridge and then a gradual ascent by a wide path going to Triund, as we zigzag along and will be rewarded with views of the peaks of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range.

Day 8, Triund to Bhagsu Nag to Pragpur: 1740m about 5hrs Trek
After breakfast, we walk over a grassy ridge for about 4km with fine views of the valley below and the snowy peaks on the other side. We cross the river by hopping over boulders to a small Chai (tea) shop and then after a few more kilometers gradually descend to just below an attractive waterfall a perfect place for lunch. After lunch, we board our jeeps that have been waiting for us to take 2hrs/70km to a delightful Heritage Hotel Judges Court at Pragpur, surrounded by the only heritage village in India. Enjoy the views of the distant Dhauladhar Mountains.

Day 9, Pragpur to Amritsar: 5km about 6hrs Drive
After breakfast, enjoy a guided walk through the heritage village; return for lunch. After lunch, drive to Amritsar

A sightseeing tour of Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh.

Day 11, Amritsar to Delhi : Train
Early morning train to Delhi, arrive Delhi and transfer to the hotel for overnight. Afternoon visit to Qutub Minar and Spice market.
