1
Day 1, Arrive Mumbai:
Arrive at Mumbai International airport. After completing the immigration and custom, proceed towards the arrival area. Meeting and assistance on arrival with traditional welcome of garlanding and transfer to the hotel (room being held from 1400 hrs).

Day 2, Mumbai to Mangalore : Flight, Mangalore to Neeleshwar : (90 kms/about 3 hrs)
This morning, departure transfer to Mumbai airport to board the flight to Mangalore, which is one of the closest airport to Neeleshwar.
Meeting on arrival at Mangalore airport and drive to the resort - Neeleshwar Hermitage, set in a secluded palm grove beside the Arabian Sea.
Neeleshwar Hermitage, a beautiful property located amongst the unspoilt beaches of Northern Kerala. Built in accordance with the architectural principles of Kerala Vastu, the property has 18 Thatched Cottages, all with sea, pool or garden views.

Day 3, Neeleshwar:
This morning after leisurely breakfast, we venture out on a gentle walk (2 kms) along the beach to Turtle hatchery Farm.
Late afternoon, visit a local market, to the Krishna Temple for the Aarti Ceremony, which is generally performed several times a day.

Day 4, Neeleshwar:
This morning, we start early - cherish some moments watching the famous Theyyam Sacred Performance which is Kerala’s ritual dance full of colours. The dance represents the significance of worship of ancestral spirits and the heroes.
After witnessing the sacred dance recitel, we return to the hotel for breakfast.
Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the resort

Day 5, Neeleshwar to Kannur: 75km, about 2hrs
This morning after leisurely breakfast drive to Kannur with enroute visit Sree Muthappan Temple in Parassinikadavu. This temple is known to be the only one in the state where the ritual dance Theyyam is performed every day in the morning and evening. The temple’s non-conformist nature is also evident in the unusual custom of offering dried fish and toddy to the deity.
After the visit, we drive about to Kannur for the overnight stay.

Day 6, Kannur to Kochi (Cochin): Train
This morning, we start early – departure transfer to the railway station to board the train to Kochi.
Kochi, earlier called Cochin, also was named the Queen of the Arabian Sea and is believed to be the finest natural harbor in the world. Cochin was the oldest European settlement in India and all its settlements have left its own distinctive imprint here. A great city to explore on foot, the quaint alleys and by-lanes.

Day 7, Kochi:
After breakfast, we proceed for a wonderful programme of sightseeing tour with the local guide - includes the ancient St. Francis Church that in its time has served the Portugese, Dutch and British communities here, the splendid San Sebastian Cathedral built by the Portugese, traditional Chinese fishing nets and charming colonial residences shaded by many ancient trees.
Then there is Mattancherry (Closed on Friday), with its Royal Palace built for the Cochin Raja by the Dutch and housing some of the best early mural painting in Kerala and the old trading area of Jew town (Closed from Friday afternoon till Saturday), with its fragrant spice warehouses, remarkable synagogue with Chinese tiles, and antique shops.
In the evening, there will be a performance of Kathakali in local theatre, the dramatic dance-drama that tells the much-loved epic stories of the gods and goddesses.

Day 08: Kochi to Munnar (140 kms/about 5 hrs)
This morning after leisurely breakfast we drive up into the Western Ghats, to the hill-station of Munnar and wind up through the rapidly changing vegetation of thick wood, Cardamom plantations and tea gardens. The views are stunning from this hill station.
Late afternoon visit Tea making factory & museum (Closed on Monday).

Day 9, Munnar:
This morning after leisurely breakfast transfer by Jeep around 3kms to the base of our day walking – start at 1420mts. Initially, the trek passes through the tea gardens with backdrop of rolling hills, after about 45min on trek we gradually climb a hill for glorious views and continue our trek through the grasslands and patches of Shola forest, continue trek on ridge offering great views of the Anaimudi highest peak in South India and Idukki Dam.
Our hot lunch will be ready at a good scenic spot.
After lunch, we trek through various plantations. Bird lovers will have a great time spotting endemic bird life of this region, the final walk for about an hour will again be through tea plantation, we finish the trek and drive back to hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax.

Day 10, Munnar to Thekkady: 110kms/about 3.5 hrs
This morning after leisurely breakfast, drive to Thekkady - the drive to Thekkady itself is enchanting as the road winds through rice plantations and thick jungles.
This afternoon is dedicated to make a short drive to nearby plantations to gain knowledge about the spices of Kerala and the plantation crops.
Evening is dedicated to stroll around the small spice market of Kumily.

Day 11, Thekkady:
This early morning, we set off to explore the park by hiking through the buffer zone of the forest with tribal tracker as a local guide from the forest department (kids below 12 yrs are not allowed)
Return back to the hotel.
Later in the afternoon, we proceed to the Periyar National Park, one of India’s major wildlife sanctuaries, to explore the sanctuary by boat. We can view some wildlife, and good chances to get the glimpse of viewing herds of wild elephants that come down to the lake for a drink and bath. Morning and evening explore the sanctuary by boat.

Day 12, Thekkady to Kumarakom: 130 kms/about 4 hrs
This morning, after leisurely breakfast, we set out for a drive to Kumarakom - a small village set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake.
There is also good option of exploring the villages on foot or we visit the nearby bird sanctuary to see the resident and migratory birds.

Day 13, Kumarakom:
This day is at leisure to enjoy the facilities at the hotel.
The villages can be explored on foot. Some of the villages around Kumarakom have some coir factories, which can be visited.

Day 14, Kumarakom to Alleppey: (40 kms/about 1 hr)
This morning after leisurely breakfast drive to Alleppey, or Alappuzha as it is called locally, washed by the silvery waves of the Arabian Sea, a vast network of canals sends out their tendrils into the famed backwaters, a massive system of waterways that connect the region.
We check into a traditional houseboat at Alappuzha. Houseboats are other means of transportation. Your houseboat is equipped with all the modern amenities that you may need in the course of your journey.
Lunch will be served in the houseboat, made with fresh ingredients procured during your cruise.
We will cruise thru the enchanting backwaters to get the glimpse of day to day life.

Day 15, Alleppey to Kovalam: (160 kms/about 4 hrs)
This morning after breakfast disembark from the houseboat and drive to Kovalam – the Beach is a natural bay, sheltered from high waves and surges. A small coastal town located south of Thiruvananthapuram. A sheet of silvery sand curves into an arc that is bordered on the one side by azure blue water and on the other by a never-ending spread of green palm groves.

Day 17, Kovalam to Trivandrum (30 kms/1 hr), Trivandrum to Mumbai: Flight
This morning, departure transfer to Trivandrum airport to board the flight to Mumbai.
Meeting on arrival at Mumbai airport and transfer drive to the hotel.

Day 18, Depart Mumbai: Flight
This morning or during the day depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Mumbai airport to board the flight for onward destination with memories of the natural beauty of the countryside from the trip Just Kerala.
