The capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad was once home to one of the richest persons in the world. Also known as the city of Nizams, it has developed to be the 5th largest metropolis and IT hub of India. WARANGAL

With a rich history dating back to the 12th century, Warangal was once the capital of the Kakatiya Dynasty. KARIMNAGAR

The fifth largest city of Telangana, Karimnagar is based on the banks of Manair River, tributary of Godavari River. A major health, educational hub and agricultural center (cotton, rice, oilseeds and millet), Karimnagar name was given to a village by Sayed Karimuddin, an Elgandala Qiladar during Nizam Era. Also known as ‘City of Granites’ due to the presence of several granite quarries here. The city has one of the biggest dams of the state, Lower Manair Dam which is also a major tourist attraction. The floral festival of Bathukamma is celebrated as spring festival in Karimnagar.

Elgandal Fort

SURYAPET

The Ministry of Urban Development awarded Suryapet as ‘Cleanest City’ in South India. Carved out of Nalgonda district, this city is also known as ‘Gateway of Telangana’. The city was previously known as Bhanupuri and was ruled over by several dynasties including Chalukyas, Kakatiyas and Nizams. There are several temples dedicated to Shiva which Kakatiya Kings built during their reign. Suryapet is among the fast developing cities of the state with several cement industries. Due to the Krishna river basin, the city flourishes with agriculture whereas the chief irrigation channel is Nagarjuna Sagar canal.
