Ziro Apatani Tribes Woman

TAWANG

To the east side of Bhutan, lies Tawang at an elevation of around 3,048 meters. Buddhist prayer flags waving in the air, enchanting sounds coming from the monasteries, smiling faces of monks, Tawang is famous for its unparalleled beauty. The foggy, cloudy surroundings, green spiral topography attracts everyone to stand and pause for a click. Tawag Monestry

PASIGHAT

Founded as a gateway for means of administration in 1911AD by the British Raj, this gateway of Arunachal Pradesh is based by the shores of Siong River. A paradise for photographers, this place is rich in natural elegance making it a wonderful place to visit on vacation. The place was earlier inhabited by Minyong and Pasi communities and can be still found living in and around the village. The village still holds its ancient charm and its indigenous culture. The soothing waterfall and mountain peaks add a lot to the virgin beauty of this place. Thick forests make it look like a landscape painted green.

Pasighat

MANAS NATIONAL PARK

This UNESCO World Heritage Site, established in 1990, is an elephant reserve, a biosphere reserve and a tiger reserve. Known for the wild water buffalo population, the sanctuary was formed on October 1st, 1928 whereas the biosphere came into existence in 1973. In the core of the park, Pagrang village is located while the park is surrounded by around 56 villages. Based on the sloppy foothills of Himalayas, the vegetation and biodiversity of the park are flourished by its main river, Manas River which is a major tributary of Brahmaputra River. This park is a natural habitat to several endangered wildlife.

MANAS NATIONAL PARK

DAPORIJO

Dapo means ‘protection/barrier’ (also evil spirit) and Rijo translates to ‘the valley’. This village is based around rainforests, bamboo trees and paddy fields. Located at around 300meters above the sea level, Daporjio lies on the way Along from Ziro. The tributary river of Brahmaputra, Subansiri flows through the village adding to its beauty. Several tribes live here such as Hilmiri, Galo nad Tagin (known for unique traditions and religious cultures) as well as Mishmi, a tribe which is among the oldest and said to have been in existence since the times of Mahabharata. At several places, one will get to see suspension bamboo bridges.
