VISAKHAPATNAM

VIJAYAWADA
The third largest city, located on the banks of Krishna River, Vijayawada means, ‘The Place of Victory’. The city is also referred to as Bezawada. The business capital of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada is surrounded in the north by Indrakeeladri Hills and in North by Budameru River. Emerging as an industrial and business city of the state, Vijayawada serves as a major rail and road junction for the Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimages due to several religious sites, making it a popular religious city. Being a rapidly developing city, one can even find historic places.

ARAKU VALLEY
This hill station is also called Ooty of Andhra Pradesh. Located in Eastern Ghats, different tribes can be found living in this valley. Adjacent to the border of Odisha state, the valley covers around 36km and is located at 1300 m of altitude above sea level. Araku Valley is also known for Sunkarimetta Reserved Forest and Ananthagiri which are biodiversity rich and have bauxite mines. The valley is a land of coffee plantations which was introduced in the valley during the British Raj. With several natural caves, the valley offers soothing climate, waterfalls, green terrains, etc. which attract nature lovers.

SRISAILAM
Mostly visited for Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple (built in Dravidian style) which is a holy site, Srisailam is a major tourist city in Andhra Pradesh. One of the largest dams of South India, on Krishna River is Srisailam Dam. For nature and wildlife lovers, the town has India’s largest tiger reserve spread in an area of 3500 sq km, Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve. Dotted with forests and other natural sites, this city makes a perfect destination to visit. The city offers enough for forest exploration, hill climbing, trekking, etc. which are famous activities in Nallamala Forest range.
